Your information
Privacy policy.
This policy explains how Derek Gembus Photography, operated by Derek Gembus, handles information when you visit derekgembusphotography.com or contact us.
Effective date: November 4, 2026
Information we receive
Our hosting and security providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser and device information, referring page, and security or error records.
If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. Please do not send payment card details, passwords, or other sensitive information by email.
The public site is currently a photography gallery. Customer accounts, checkout, print orders, and paid digital downloads are not available. This gallery does not currently collect payment or shipping information.
Google Analytics and Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager to load website tags and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the gallery. Analytics can receive page URLs and titles, referring sites, browser and device information, approximate location, cookie identifiers, and interactions such as page views, scrolling, and outbound link clicks.
Google Analytics can use first-party cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _ga, to distinguish browsers and measure visits. Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. Your browser still connects to Google when its tags load.

Cookies, browser storage, and your choices
The site remembers your selected visual theme in your browser’s local storage until you change it or clear site data. The storefront interface also uses session storage for temporary shopping-bag state, even while purchasing is unavailable. Security providers may use cookies to protect the site and distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse.
You can block or delete cookies and clear local or session storage through your browser settings. Clearing site data also resets saved preferences. Blocking security cookies may affect access to the website.
Google provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers. Browser privacy controls and content blockers may also limit analytics requests. Deleting cookies alone does not prevent new cookies from being set on a later visit.
How information is used and shared
We use information to display and maintain the gallery, understand aggregate usage, resolve errors, protect against abuse, answer messages, and handle privacy or copyright requests.
Service providers process information for these purposes: Namecheap provides hosting, Cloudflare provides network delivery and security, Google provides tag management and analytics, and email services handle messages you send to us. Their processing is also described in their own privacy notices: Namecheap, Cloudflare, and Google.
We do not sell visitor contact information or mailing lists. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, investigate abuse, or respond to a valid legal request.
Retention and security
We retain correspondence and related records for as long as needed to answer requests, maintain relevant business records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Technical logs and analytics data are subject to the applicable providers’ retention settings and policies; there is no single retention period for every category of information.
The website uses HTTPS and access controls to help protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Privacy requests
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons, and we may be unable to associate aggregate analytics reports with an individual visitor.
Where applicable, you can also raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
Children and external links
This gallery is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
